Pella Christian fell in their opener when they hosted Bondurant-Farrar at the Excit-A-Bowl Saturday.
The girls were led by first time bowler Cheyanne Collins with a 253 two game series, followed by Lexi Matherly at 246, then Sienna Attema with a 231 score in their 2009-1796 loss.
The boys were paced by two first time bowlers in their 2591-2092 loss to the Blue Jays, Cameron VanderWal at 321 and Cole Webster at 314, followed by Austin VanKooten at 297.
“We didn’t come out on top, but the effort was encouraging, Head Coach Rod Blunck says. “We had a team of girls for varsity, a team of varsity boys and another group of boys to field a JV team. There was a total of 17 PC bowlers and 11 of those were participating in their first ever tournament.”
The Eagles travel to Val Lanes on December 15 for a meet against Norwalk.
