West Bengal Governor C V Anand Bose submitted to the Supreme Court the reasons for rejecting the state government’s recommendations for vice-chancellors in 17 universities, while approving appointments for 19 others. The court, noting former CJI U U Lalit’s involvement in the initial shortlist, has requested him to review the Governor’s objections. The matter is adjourned for further hearing.
